Things to say to twin mothers....
Ok. Here is a list I have compliled of things to ask moms and dads of twins when you encounter them. You should ask these questions when you see a stranger, preferrably in a stressed situation such as one baby screaming, pooping, or spilling something. Oooo its good in a restaurant too.
1. Are they twins?
2. Are they identical?
3. (Following response to question #2) They sure don't look idenitcal.
4. Were you trying for twins?
5. Do they sleep?
6. Glad its you and not me! (I'm glad its me and not you too!)
7. (You must say this one before you end the conversation or the parent won't get their nickel) Boy you have your hands full!!
Thankfully, I have never had a rude comment like I have heard others receiving. Most people would smile and tilt their heads and say "Awe, what a blessing". Apparently, my angel goes before me and hits people on the head and says "Hey! Tired twin mom ahead needs a blessing today!! So say something nice!"

The Simpson's.....doah!
Yes, I am a native Simpson. You know how some people tell the "you might be a redneck if..." jokes??
You might be a Simpson if.....
Your dad and your brother bring the same woman to Christmas.
Your family photo looks like the "poster child" for dysfunction.
Your twice divorced dad gives everyone marital advice.
You don't consider it a "party" unless someone ALMOST gets shot.
You trick innocent in-laws into eating calf fries. (Here, try this fish)
You make prank phone calls, well beyond your 10th birthday. More like well beyond your 40th birthday.
Your idea of an awesome present is writing "Happy Birthday" with the tractor and disc on a big hill in the field.

Here I go again...
Ok, so in previous post I said how my twins are a testimony. When we found out we were having twins, we were in absolute shock. My husband had a headache for 3 days that Darvaset wouldn't even touch. Knowing the risks involved, we began a prayer list of specific things we wanted to happen in order to safely bring our twinkies into the world.
I wanted to carry them to full-term and weighing at least 5 lbs. each. I also wanted to be able to deliver them without having to have a c-section. For this to have the best chance of happening, they both had to be head down. I wanted the labor to last less than six hours. I wanted to be able to work up until they were born. I wanted them born healthy without any complications.
Each and every single item on my little list, God answered plus. I carried them 38 weeks (all the longer the doctor would let me), they weighed over 6 lbs, they were both head down the entire time. I worked up until they were born. They were delivered with 2 1/2 hours of labor. We came home in two days with no NICU time.
It was a true test of patience, prayer, and endurance. It was a revelation of how big our God is!
I don't want to do it ever again :)

Here I go....
Here I go with my first blog. If I were famous, there would be a famous quote ***here.
I am the accidental-on-purpose mother of boy/girl twins (who are 1 1/2 years old), an accidental-on-purpose banker, and a used to be team roper. No one PLANS on having twins, just the one. I accidentally had twins. I also didn't plan on becoming a bank president. It was an accident. I also didn't plan on becoming a has-been cowgirl; that came along with having twins. Also an accident.
I have a 5 year old girl on purpose. I also have a husband on purpose.
The twins have truly been a blessing from God. For someone who never wanted kids before I turned 30, only to realize then that I wanted a complete family, it was quite the proof of God's sense of humor.
The coolest part about having twins is it exempts you from all the rules. They share bottles (yeah yeah yeah, I will try to get them off bottles before they are 2), use the same spoon, they sleep whereever we can get them to. But it also creates its own set of rules. Such as, you gotta get them on the same routine so you don't lose your mind. For the most part, this is easy enough. There have been lots of sleepless nights, lots of trial and error, but twice the hugs and laughs.
For some reason, ever sense we had 3 kids, I have been unable to spend time roping and riding horses like I used to. I used to be one of those people who made fun of those who abandoned the sport for the sake of children or jobs, you know, trivial things. Now my time with horses revolves around play days for my 5 year old, hours of leading horses on foot, and stick horses. We do somehow manage to have three rocking horses all crammed into our living room. It was a good day when my son could get on by himself!
Even from before they were even born, they have been quite the testimony to trusting in faith, power of prayer, and the reward of forgiveness.
